This sums up so much.

Any how, I'm sick and tomorrow is deathBlizzard and the last two shows of the Slutcracker. Even though I felt like fainting/barfing during our number, it was the best yet. The audience was primo, they got it and gave just the right stuff. I'm going to be interviewed for a documentary someone is making on the slutcracker... I'm excited, hopefully I'll sound less moronic than usual. Haha social anxiety. I'll really miss my Slutfamily though, they've all been GREAT and have opened a whole new (positive) world of performance for me just when I needed it. Also... it's a show about sex and discovering yourself! BEAT THAT :D
So happy I could die. Or maybe Im just so sick I could die. Ponder.

Thursday, had a half-day and got on the 2nd Boston bus. Got on the same Braintree-bound car as other Job Corps students for conversation. Dropped my shit at home. Went back-out to go to marmota's. We both tucked-in early. He dropped me off at Bloc 11 Cafe the next day in Union Square, Somerville. I gathered trash in the storage locker. I went to City Feed and Supply near the Stonybrook Orange line stop to use a free 12 oz. coffee coupon and got the Farmer's Lunch sandwich (apple and cheese are the major ingredients.) Came home. After a restless night, got a little over 2 hours of sleep before having to get-up at 5:45 AM. Got the first bus to the subway station. Managed to catch the first commuter rail train to Framingham. Got picked-up by a friend. Gathered books for my ex and myself that were at my friend's house after we had breakfast at a place that had a free biker newspaper. Had a few hours to kill in Framingham before the next train to Boston. Had lunch at a Brazilian place. Got coffee at a Brazilian bakery. Met with the ex to give him books and hung around the Pit for less than an hour. Saw the ex off to his train. Bought a 7-day pass for the T. Went to Boston Common Coffee Company in Downtown Crossing for a cup of coffee and wi-fi. Going to call step grandmother and leave after I hit post.
heyuwithaface, this vacation I'm going to post so for the time being, you can't complain that I don't post about anything interesting I do with my life.

Winter's finally here -- and it's not even official winter yet! I was so bundled up this morning that I had to perform a little striptease in my office to get my underlayers off.
I discovered I lost one of the armwarmers
tpau made me. This makes me very sad because they were made by a friend, I *don't* lose things, and they're so warm. The difference between my wool-clad right arm and unprotected left arm was kind of amazing.
Lakshmi Amman and I are doing a rather different kind of pin-up modeling tomorrow at Camelot. Should be fun -- and it's for a good cause.
A night at home tonight! I revel in it. I think there shall be sewing. It's been a little while since I worked on the cut-velvet dress. The skirt is basted to the bodice and I need to make some more progress on the lining.

I finally found/created a drink recipe for Absolut Boston that I like. Here it is:
1.5 oz. Absolut Boston (w/ black tea & elderflower)
1 oz. Triple Sec
squeeze of lemon
ice, shake, pour
add a splash of soda water, a lemon wedge, and candied ginger slices (one in the glass, and one as garnish).
The candied ginger & soda made all the difference. Before that, it was too potent, afterward, crisp and refreshing. An Iced Tea cocktail with elderflower, orange, lemon, & ginger in just the right balance, without any of them overpowering the other anymore.
Yay! I've had that bottle in the house for months, not entirely able to make it work successfully. This works wonders.

I am in love with it. So much.
80)Boneshaker by Cherie Priest (2009, Tor Books, 418 pages)
This alternate history/steampunk/dark science fantasy follows single mother Briar Wilkes and her son amidst the ruins of a walled in Seattle (circa 1880s). Zeke Wilkes is searching for a way to clear the legacy of his father, Leviticus Blue: the man responsible for building a tunneling machine called Boneshaker, which pretty much demolished the city and released a toxic gas from the earth (called The Blight) with the awful property of turning the living into the walking ravenous. Briar is searching for her wayward son before he gets himself killed. Though most of the locals dwell outside the walls of Seattle, the protagonists soon discover a strange subculture of gas masked danger seekers, drunks, Chinese machinists, steamtech low lives, and a peculiar mad scientist making homes amidst the Blight fogged ruins.
The deliciously original setting is a delight here combining some of the better parts of weird westerns (ala the Deadlands RPG and the work of Joe R. Lansdale), wild zeppelin adventures, and zombpocalyptic fiction. However, all of these disparate elements work in a relatively seamless whole, with a character motivated, suspense-filled plot that zips along. Priest is a wonderful storyteller, and I hope she will tell more tales in this intriguing world.

Finished Book 1 early, will Fedex today. Three more on the to-do shelf, two of which are paying gigs.
Worrisome part of Christmas shopping done: kids' presents to be delivered to the grandparents' condo; adults' in-honor-of charitable donation sent. Still a goodly number of friends who should get something small and delightful though.
Kudos to
marysdress's eldest, who did very well indeed on his first attempt at the PSAT.
Warm weather today, maybe the snow pack will melt off the deck so the next round will be a fresh start.
